Happy Birthday, Zac. We miss you so very much.

His mother has posted the following message on the In Memory of Zac Champommier Facebook group page:

Today would have been Zac's 22nd birthday. He brought so much joy to my life in the 18 years he was here. I am truly blessed to have had him as my son. Happy birthday my love.
In his memory, I am asking that you write to the District Attorney's Office and ask that they reopen the case and press charges. Since the trial, it has become even more clear that criminal charges need to be filed against Peter "Taylor" LoPresti. The DA declined to file charges, originally, based on false information.
This DEA agent needs to be taken off the streets. As far as I know, he has not even been reprimanded, although the Civil ruling holds the DEA responsible for battery against Zac because of their employee. That is why there are monetary damages. The DEA has appealed and the process could take up to another year from now to get resolved. However, there is no need to wait for criminal charges. The complete ruling can be read at http://justiceforzac.blogspot.com (click here to read the ruling in its entirety-j.v.)
The address is:
Los Angeles County District Attorney
Attn: Deputy DA Shannon Presby
System Integrity Division
210 W. Temple Street
Los Angeles, CA 90012
Please share this information and ask others to do the same. We still need justice for Zac. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We love you, Carol and are thinking of you and Zac today.

Members of the plainclothes narcotic task force were described as looking like "a biker gang".

The "biker gang" appearance is exactly the look to expect from some of the L.A. County Sheriff Deputies assigned to work undercover narcotics detail.
But that is not who is sent to execute a search warrant. Clean denim or khaki pants, a standard work shirt and a windbreaker jacket with lettering to identify the name of the law enforcement agency is the look seen when serving the warrant.

The "biker gang" undercover narcotics officers who work the streets and deliver the information needed to obtain the search warrant usually aren't brought along when the warrant gets executed.

While it may be true that members of the task force met in the parking lot for debriefing following execution of a search warrant, some of those at the debriefing probably weren't present when the warrant was served.
Has anyone sought to determine if there was a police undercover operation at Granada Hills High during Zac's senior year which either targeted students or attempted to use students for information?

That is a legitimate question because there was a planned water fight on campus involving a large number of students at the end of Zac's junior year.
The school administration delivered a harsh disciplinary response in the following days, including the appearance of the LAPD on the campus.
That is unusual because the water fight was a one-time event that was over and there was no apparent cause to summon the police and the LAUSD has their own police force to handle most campus/student incidents.

We don't know what developed, if anything, from that invitation by the school administration to the LAPD.
There may have been an agreement by the school administration to cooperate with a police operation which exceeded the scope of any offense committed by the waterfight.
Or the entry of the police into GH High may have developed into an unexpected operation which simply took on a life of its own.
